How about a Braillenote SR with optional speech to select from so each could choose the speech they can hear best, and 18 cell jumbo (or maybe even a bit bigger ) braille, and a really simplified help system where you can search for what you need with a search term rather than choosing from an index and needing to remember what you need to know to find it.
With luck we are all getting older, and our need for cross challenge technology keeps growing. Even with my rehab background, it has been somehow comforting and encouraging for me to meet so many people here who share my increasing hearing and touch problems. It's just nice not to be trying to solve the new problems one encounters all alone.
