Hello Richard, we have now identified the source of the battery issues
experienced by some customers. It related to some batteries not fully
meeting specification. It was important for us to establish this
conclusively through tests, and not just assume that our hardware was not
at fault. We are putting in place increased quality control procedures
internally at HumanWare with respect to batteries, and hope to have new
batteries with HumanWare subsidiaries shortly. Once this happens, then the
UK will begin transplanting. As the US is a much larger operation, they
have been able to put their own measures in place to safeguard battery
quality, which is why the transplants have gone so smoothly. We appreciate
your patience and are very pleased to have identified the issue. With the
resolution of this issue and the release of the patch to deal with some
units freezing, I think we've again demonstrated that we respond decisively
to customer feedback.
