Hello Listers, Few of us who have read the specification of the forthcoming
Mpower, can faill to be impressed at what has been achieved. However, a number
of users of the Braillenote family will, I'm sure, have regrets at what has
not, at this time, been included. At the risk of boring regular readers of
this list, my personal regret is that the dialer has not been tied to the
telephone numbers in the address book; thus permitting easy diling of numbers
one looks up in this excellent section. On my desk is a 20 year old Braille
input computer which I would dearly love to retire from active service, it is
so slow at dealing with files and can only handle comparatively small files at
that. However, its telephone facility adds to my efficiency in a way that the
Braillenote does not. Surely, it can't be too much of a technical problem to
institute this simple addition. An acquaintance of mine telephoned Humanware
to check whether the Mpower possessed this feature. He was told that
no one else had ever suggested this facility and that apparently no one else
required it. So, once again, please put my name on the list of those who would
find this feature a positive benefit.
Don Cooper.
