No is its default setting, and if you reset your machine, you are
setting it back to its default or original settings.  It is supposed
to do this.   This happens both in the planner with the alarm and the
issue with resetting the time.  The alarm as is true with all items in
the planner are set to default, and you must change them for each
appointment.  Similarly, when you reset the unit, it reverts to the
default, so you must change it to what you want.

There is nothing wrong with your machine.

Not sure what you mean about insertion.  However, I suspect that you
may be misunderstanding the manual.
