I do have the witcom drivers. On d-link's web page, they give you
instructions on how to remove the microsoft driver that gets installed by
default and to get the d-link or witcom one to take precedence.
This is done by going to the device manager page under system. Then, you
have to use the add hardware wizard to get it to see the correct driver.
They have a pdf file you can download with instructions on their web site.
I am going to try reinstalling this evening. Hopefully, I can get things
running.

Sounds like you have one of the well-known bluetooth drivers like Widcomm
or maybe Toshiba. To make xp shut up and not install its own drivers, you
have to rename the bth.inf file in the drive:\windows\inf to something
like bth.bac or some other random extention.
