Hilda,
Hotmail does not use POP3 and SMTP servers for retrieving mail. The
only way you can get mail on that service is through Outlook Express or
Outlook. You'll need to use another service such as Pobox or Yahoo if
you want to get your mail and send it through POP3 and SMTP.
