Did you install Key sync? If so, you should be able to check the files, the Outlook planner and out look address list. Don't check the ones saying desk top or pc planner. IN fact I'd just check files if your going to be syncing files from the BN to the PC. Don't forget to uncheck the convert files under rules. If I were you and just wanted to sync with Outlook, just mess with the options under utilities in the BN. If confused, space with h or the chapter on active sync and key sync which is chapter 13, I think.
