Hi Thomas,

The one problem with this is money. In spite of the fact that the upgrades to
the mPower are substantially cheaper than buying a brand-new unit, it's still
around $2000 American. A lot of people simply don't and won't have that kind
of money. This is why HW will be upgrading older BrailleNotes as much as
possible. They want to leave none of their customers behind, not even the
poorest of the poor, for whom obtaining a BrailleNote at all was a miracle.

Hello everyone,
Sarah, when Jonathan says all will continue to have chances for upgrading,
this does also mean you can upgrade from your current BrailleNote to the
BrailleNote mPower. That means, you send your BN in and get it as a BN
mPower in return. It's only some hardware components and of course the
KeySoft version that are replaced, but you can keep the Braille display you
had before. This is why such an upgrade will not be that expensive as
buying a new BN.
So, if HumanWare provides this possibility, what sense would there be for
continuing development of further subversions of KeySoft 6.1x?
I mean, that's the best thing you can have!
Greetings
Thomas Rauch
