It has always been the case that type 1 and 2 CF cards can be used. I am not personally aware of statements that say otherwise. In saying this, I would be interested if you are aware of such information or documentation that is in circulation.

Type one and type two cards will work with the BrailleNote.  I'm not
familiar with the card that you make mention of here but chances are that it
will work.
