Hey Mike,

Here's something to try.

Go to the file manager menu.
Go to erase file.
Choose the flash disk and the dictionaries folder.
Space down until you see a file called keysoft.ksd.
Press enter to erase it and y to confirm.
Before doing anything else, while the display still says "1 file erased", press
the reset button.

You will lose all your speech settings and any Email folders you might have
created in the past, but it might straighten out at least some of your problem.

Let me know if this worked.

Sarah

Well, I checked and unfortunately, compatibility mode is turned off which
means that I still have a problem I can't fix. So, tell me more about the
database and how that might be effecting my operation. I don't have any
particularly large files on the bn but I do have about a hundred of them. I
also don't have any emails, but do have a gps, if that makes any difference.
I'm just fishing around here to try and figure this out. Thanks very much
for the reminder about the 4-5-6 and backspace. I'm so use to the other
command I'd forgotten about that one. However, here's a news flash. I just
tried the 4-5-6 and backspace and it asked me if I wanted to delete to the
end of the document. There's clearly something going on in the key
definitions here but I can't figure out what it is. I've done 1-2-3 resets
as well as 4-5-6 resets and the behaviour is still there.
