Penny bought the 32 for exactly the same reason they are the same cases.

Subject: Re: [Braillenote] physical difference between BN 18 and BN 32

You who have seen both units correct me if I am wrong.
I thought that the bn 18 and the bn 32 are essentially the same
configuration as to size when you get down to the braille display. the
18-cell display is just as wide and takes up just as much space as the
bn32. I could be wrong about this, but I do not think so. I own a bn32
and part of the reason I went ahead and bought the more cells in the
display was that I had heard that the other unit was physically the same
size. the bn18 is the same size as the bn32. Okay, someone come and
knock me off this notion, if there's nothing to it. Kindest regards,
Penny
