With the pcmcia slot, doesn't that give a person the ability to copy from
one cf card to another? The whole card is most likely to big to fit on the
machine.

I am using a new Dell laptop and it has a PCMCIA slot. Let's not be so
hasty about making sweeping generalizations.

Andy,
I have to agree with you on the pcm cia slot.I can understand why people
with older Note family members, who have invested in microdrives would
like to see that slot retained. But I haven't seen such a slot on any
laptop I've looked at in the store for the last year or more, including
the one I bought earlier this year. I wonder if retention of that slot
was just one of the ways Humanware sought to make the transition/upgrade
easier
for previous customers. I'd certainly rather see a different media type,
or two sd slots or whatever as opposed to pcm cia. For those who say pcm
cia isn't scarce, I'd like to hear some examples of pcm cia devices
being sold right now, other than the micro drive, of course, which I
guess is still available. I have the idea that pcm cia devices are more
costly and eat more battery than do sd or flash cards. If that's wrong,
please
educate me.
Mary
