Hi all, Those interested with an mPower, please read on.
Last night we did our first recording session of at least some of our sing along with friends as we taught new things together. OK, the microphone volume was a bit too high and that was obvious from the result. Incidentally, Jim, in playing around, I was able to reproduce the vibrations of the speaker also, but I think that's probably something we have to live with and that really we should be using good external speakers or headphones for playing back. Would that be a fair assessment, Jonathan, or are you saying there's no vibration with your speakers if an item is a little over-recorded? One of the things I forgot was to record on our 5 GB PCMCIA card so I eventually got a message which indicated that there was insufficient recording space. On further investigation, I found that I certainly hadn't lost any of the recording to that point and that impressed me. Would we be asking too much to hope for some kind of "monitoring" so that we could hear the recording through headphones as it was being made, if that's what we wanted to do, or at least when testing? I hope someone from FS can think about that one and give me some feedback on the possibilities/probabilities of this. In addition, you mention in the manual that the microphone should be "high impedance". Can anyone be more specific here so that I can go out and buy something really good to do such recordings justice? -- Carol - Who's very excited about getting recordings done well on the mPower!
