Jess:
It looks like its time to have the battery replaced and your display
serviced and cleaned. I don't think the problem has anything to do with
the compactflash card.

Subject: [Braillenote] Battery question.

My name is Jess Fox, and I have a BrailleNote B.T. that runs Keysoft
version 5.1. I had a battery replaced in 2003, and the unit has been
running fine until July 2005. I noticed that the pins were jumping, and
I noticed that the speech was malfunctioning. I fixed the problem by
reformatting my Compact flash card, and it was running well until
yesterday. I noticed that the BrailleNote was giving me the error alert
tone when I was attempting to tell the unit to select the Flash Disk.,
and I would have to press the "F" key three times in order for the
BrailleNote to execute my command. Also, I noticed that the tops of the
pins that make up the BrailleNote were up when I created a new document,
and there are no pins on the Braille display when you create a new
document. I have two questions for anyone that can help me with my
issue. The first question that I have is: Do I need to reformat my
compact Flash card in order to rectify this problem? The second
question that I have is: Do I need to send the BrailleNote back to have
a battery replacement in order to rectify this problem?
