Hi everyone,
I am writing on behalf of my 3rd grade BrailleNote enthusiast.
Believe it or not, he has been working on writing his own book.
It is a KWB document.
The file is on the compact flash card.
He was working on chapter 9.
He hit "find" & the "find next" & the contents of the entire 33 page
document vanished.
The document name still shows up, but it is completely empty (registers as a
1KB-sized document).
Very unfortunately we don't have a back up of this document.
While I have now backed up the entire compact flash card on my computer, &
we will do so weekly from here forward.
While this is a bitter lesson to back up, we are still very curious why this
happened.
He similarly lost another story a few months ago while doing a word count. -
Poof! - the entire contents - 12 book chapters - of the document gone into
thin air!
The compact flash card did not appear to be loose.
He has been working in the document for weeks & he knows to save regularly.
He exits the document when he puts the BrailleNote away.
The battery power was OK.
It might make sense that anything new (since last saved) might be lost, but
why did the entire contents disappear?
We are at a loss as to why this has occurred, but we wish to prevent such
repeat occurrences in the future
Any insight on why this might have happened would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for any thoughts you might have.
