Hello Chuck,

You need to be disconnected in Activesync before the delete partnership
option is active. If it still isn't active, there are no partnerships
Activesync should know about. You can do a 456 or JKL reset on the
BraileNote and that will get rid of the partnership information on the
BrailleNote end.

Subject: [Braillenote] Active Sync question

Hello again list members, I have a question about devices in Active Sync. I
was having problems with Active Sync starting on my Windows 2000 PC and
uninstalled it with the idea of reinstalling it. However, apparently I
should have deleted the partnership with my BrailleNote for upon
reinstalling it I cannot add the device "BrailleNote" because I am getting
the "Device Name Is Not Unique" dialog with the message "This device name is
already in use. You must enter a different name for your mobile device."

I have not set up any devices on the newly installed Active Sync and cannot
"delete" a partnership. The "Delete Partnership" option is disabled under
the file menu in active sync. I have checked the registry for any references
to BrailleNote and removed them after uninstalling Active Sync a second
time. I then reinstalled Active Sync a second time but am still having this
problem.

I realize that I could add the device in as another name but would really
like to resolve the fact that Active Sync still seems to have a
"BrailleNote" device configured somewhere.
