Hi,
These are all good ideas. Here's how I deal with each.

How well have you maintained the machine?
In general, I'm very careful about my BrailleNote. In teh whole time I've had it, I've only dropped it once, and I never leave it open or xposed to ehat or cold. My friends tease me and say i treat it like a newborn infant, which is a slight exaggeration, I think.
Do the disks have enough free space? Are
you freeing up data space regularly so that the system doesn't become overloaded? The flash disk has 3 out of 16 megs free right now. I try and clean things out regularly and store as muh on storage cards as I can, but with schoolwork and stuff, I have much more on my hard drive than I'd like.
Do you keep storage cards in the card slots, or do you put them away?
I usually just have a Compactflash in the drive, andd I usually leave it in there. Shoudl I be taking it out?

   Thanks.

Caitlin

How well have you maintained the machine? Do the disks have enough free space? Are you freeing up data space regularly so that the system doesn't become overloaded? Do you keep storage cards in the card slots, or do you put them away? If something isn't loose inside, then maybe it's one of these issues? Give these things a try. Good luck.
