Hi: I use my bn's all the time as Braille displays on a laptop. It doesn't matter what kind of laptop you have that makes no difference at all what does matter is weather that laptop has a serial port or not. If it does then you connect the serial cable provided configure your screen reader and tell the BrailleNote to be a Braille terminal.
If you don't have a serial port on your laptop then you need to get one either a card or by adding a USB to serial converter. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jess Fox Sent: July 7, 2005 2:33 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Braillenote] BrailleNote used as a brailleNote used in conjunctionwith a laptop and the right laptop for me. My name is Jess Fox and I have written to this list before in regards to my BrailleNote. I wanted to know if any one is using the BrailleNote's Braille display for their laptop? How did you configure the BrailleNote to act as a Braille display for the laptop? Is there a specific kind of Laptop that works best with the BrailleNote? ___ To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit http://list.humanware.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote
