You guys are making me envious! I have to hold out for the transplant in another month or more, depending on where I am on the list. I'm loving reading everyone's comments about the mPower and enjoying it vicariously. <grin>

That's great and glad you're enjoying it.

As for the recording, you might try changing the record level. You can do this by going into the media center and choosing "record a memo". You can then either press the enter key to start recording or the button on the side if you like. But, before you do any of that, if you have a qt you can use the arrow keys to raise and lower the record volume. You can then make a test recording and play it back to see if you like the changed record level.

I don't have an MPower here now and frankly don't recall the keystrokes to make the test and play it back, but it's probably either in the context help or the manual. Anyway, that test recording won't be saved, so you don't have to worry about that.

The speech can break up a little sometimes if you're trying to do other things at the same time, but a speech synthesizer on a pc will sometimes do the same
thing if processing gets too intensive.

It's a neat unit.  You'll be really pleased with the email download speed too.
