You guys are making me envious! I have to hold out for the transplant in
another month or more, depending on where I am on the list. I'm loving
reading everyone's comments about the mPower and enjoying it
vicariously. <grin>

Jim,
That's great and glad you're enjoying it.
As for the recording, you might try changing the record level. You can do
this by going into the media center and choosing "record a memo". You can
then
either press the enter key to start recording or the button on the side if
you like. But, before you do any of that, if you have a qt you can use
the arrow keys to
raise and lower the record volume. You can then make a test recording and
play it back to see if you like the changed record level.
I don't have an MPower here now and frankly don't recall the keystrokes to
make the test and play it back, but it's probably either in the context
help or the
manual. Anyway, that test recording won't be saved, so you don't have to
worry about that.
The speech can break up a little sometimes if you're trying to do other
things at the same time, but a speech synthesizer on a pc will sometimes
do the same
thing if processing gets too intensive.
It's a neat unit. You'll be really pleased with the email download speed too.
