Thanks jeff. I'll call them tonight. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jeff Molzow Sent: Wednesday, October 12, 2005 2:55 PM To: Braillenote List Subject: RE: [BrailleNote] Wireless and WEP
Jennifer: Unfortunately, when a WEP key is stored on a PC, it is stored in a password type of format (All stars). If you have no record of the WEP key and the tech didn't leave you anything, you may need their help in reconfiguring your router to put a new key in. There is no way to retrieve it from your PC. If you have a Linksys router and know the password to it, I can help you retrieve the key from there. Others on this list may be able to help you with different makes of routers. If it will help you find it, the WEP key is usually either a 10 or 26 digit number made up of the letters a thru f and the numbers 0 thru 9. I doubt your ISP or who ever set up your router would have kept a record, but you might check with them to see if they saved the key for you. I wish I could be of more help here Sorry Jeff ___ To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit http://list.humanware.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote
