Your answer makes sense, except for one thing. A person can continuously
save a document while writing it without exiting KeyWord. So, if the Mp
freezes, and you reset the machine, all of the data in the document should
be present from the last time you used the save command.
When I did my little test, the control S command worked.
I am using a QT model, and I can't remember any posts from a QT user saying
control S didn't work. If that's right, then the bug exists in the BT
models. But if QT users have experienced the same problem, then the bug is
in both models.

Subject: [BrailleNote] Answers to the question about saving files
Hi everyone. This is Joseph. For those of you who are
having some trouble with saving files: KeyWord is
designed to save files automatically when: when you
turn of your BN, or when you exit KeyWord. A note on
reset and file data: you'll lose the changes made in a
document when you reset your unit (same goes to
Planner, Address List, and so on.). Like Windows, when
you turn off your computer while working on a
document, the changes will be lost. This thing happens
because BN, like computers, stores temporary
information on its RAM. So, like cusing a computer,
all the information in RAM will be lost if you reset
your unit. A note on reset: there are three (or four
in mPower) kinds of reset. For more information about
data loss and resets, refer to the topics about
resetting on the User Guide (it can be found in
Appendix C of the User guide titled "Troubleshooting
BrailleNote XX" where XX is the model of your unit
e.g. BT or QT.) I hope this information may help you.\
