Kathy I have the same problems you have. I have epelepsi and it has an effect on my memory. If you do not use it you lose it. I came up with an idea. I wish the commands were in alphabetical order. It would be so much easier to look up something again. SVi, Services For The Visually Handicapped, in MD has 5/7 notebooks with plastic braille paper. These sheets hold up for a long time and can even can be washed off. When they come back in stock, I am going to start to make a alphabetical booklet of commands and steps on how to do things. For example, under the letter D, I am going to list all the delete commands.
SVI is: 301-589-0894 in Maryland Hope this idea helps. Under the spacific letter, they do not have to be in alphabetical order. This allows you to keep adding to the letter D with out rebrailling the section. If you have any questions, e-mail me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] This method is also handy for phone numbers. I know it gets old for the wizards to hear the beginners asking questions tthat seem to have obvious answers to those familiar with how to do things. But as I learned ages ago when first getting involved with WINDOWS, you never stop learning, and you can never remember it all. I don't think I ever would have found that delete command under erase in block commands because I think of block commands as editing type commands to do things with chunks of a file, not with the file as a whole from the outside Well I didn't before...now I will look at that concept differently. There is so much new to learn here, and as I read through the manual, if I'm not immediately going to use what I read, it hasn't a chance of staying in my head any more until I come across the need for it. Having a collection of people each remembering different parts of the whole is a marvelous resource for help. And once I gain a new concept or skill, I go and practice it over and over until it becomes a new pattern I hopefully can remember and pass on to someone else seeking it in the future. was it Jim who taught me Function-O C W N? I do that every shutdown now and I haven't had trouble with my wireless connection in ages. ___ To leave the BrailleNote list, send a blank message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To view the list archives or change your preferences, visit http://list.humanware.com/mailman/listinfo/braillenote
