no. this compact flash card contains the installer fo rmy german language. i
push it in the slot and still get card not recognized, even when i feel it
push in allt he way, i still wonder if i've damaged pins in the slot.

Will, I've had this problem with a couple cards in my voicenote 6.11. Has
the card you are working with ever been recognized in the slot where you
are now putting it? I had some that worked just fine in the reader on my
PC but which would not work on the Voicenote at all. I just sent them back
and tried different brands and managed just fine.
If this one has worked, can you test it somewhere else to be sure it is
still working?
I am assuming you are certain you have it right side up and with the right
end going into the slot, but do check that to be certain it's correct.
The new 2GB cards we just bought are REALLY HARD to get into their slots
for some reason. There shouldn't be much of the card poking out at
all...Barely enough so that you can grab that little lip with your finger
in the curve under the card. If it's poking out any further, it's not in
yet. If that little lip isn't pointing downward away from the keyboard
side of the device, it's not in right side up.
Do you have any other device or card like a wireless card you can put in
to test the slot?
