THe point was so that they couldn't run it, that way they couldn't distribute it. If you cna't distribute your code and each one has to be aprooved by Humanware staff, making viruses would e a tricky business indeed. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Scott E Ford" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Hi, I am not a programmer. Although I have done some programming. When I
did it you had to compile the application to do anything with it. You could
not do anything with just source code. I do not know any programmers that
can write clean code on there first try. I have seen one of my professors
do it though. Human nature is to make a little mistake here or there.
Another words I do not think that anyone would write code for the bn without
compiling it and running it. Besides that it is half the fun , to create
something that you can at least run on your own machine.

Well, making the technology available just makes it more likely for peopel
to want to try. I think what might be better is if they could release the
instructions for an SDK, but then programmers would have to send their
sourcecode to Humanware to get compiled. This would make sure that all
programs were both benevolant, and made the best use of the braillenote's
resources as the humanware staff could look at hte code and see ways where
it could be improved.
