Hi Pam, the units leave the factory calibrated, so there is no need to worry about this process. You may find that the unit has lost some charge during shipping, so it's a good idea to plug it in when you receive it.

When I first get my mpower, will the battery have a full charge or is there something I need to do before using it? I mean should I go ahead and use it for the charge that is left on it or will I need to put a full charge on it first? I don't want to overcharge it right away or anything. I tell you what; I haven't been this excited about anything for a long time. During this wait to receive my braillenote mpower, I feel like I'm waiting for Santa Clause. My braillenote mpower is currently at Santa's workshop being constructed by little elves at the North Pole. It's great to feel like a kid at Christmas.
