Its also still the most portable way of note taking you don't need power
it never crashes and its still cheap.

I hate the slate! If I have to be w/o my BN then give me a Braille
writer. Sighted people still use those things called paper and pins.

Slate and stylus?  Now I will go along with the Perkins as I still use
it regularly even with my BN but let's see, what is a slate?
