Leslie, Both words have a hard k sound at the end of those two words. Some words have the same sound, but different spellings. For instance, the words wait and weight; the words won and one; the words see and sea; the names Shawn and Sean; the words be and bee; the words but and butt; the words doe and dough. They both sound the same, but they mean something totally different.
