Rhonda, I wasn't picking on you, what I am attempting to say is, that although your hymnal is, of course text, when a person scans a document, the immediate results are often image files. In other words, when documents are scanned, what is happening is that a digital picture, if you will, of the page is being created. Before that file ends up as text, OCR (optical character recognition) must be performed. If I had a computer and if I were fully sighted, I could look at the files in question, and I could read the text, even if the files were images. However, since I don't have any vision I can do nothing with a JPG file. I guess what I'm trying to say here is that whoever is scanning your hymnal may need to go one step further than they are going. Meaning, that if they are scanning the pages, they then must perform OCR on those images so that the files you receive are in a text format. Please know that I am only attempting to assist here, and I wish you the best of luck.

How do I know they're text? It is my hymnal I use in church. It's being scanned in, so that I can use it. > ----- Original Message ----- >From: "Richard Ring" <[EMAIL PROTECTED] >To: "Braillenote List" <[email protected] >Date: Fri, 18 Nov 2005 16:28:31 -0600 >Subject: RE: [Braillenote] hmmm! >If you can't open them, how do you know they are text? >JPG files are, images.
