Hello richard, A nice scanner with software is around fifty or sixty dollars and your screenreader most likely can read the images. Omnipage is an excellent program and it even converts to MSword files. so, yes, there's a way to do this without breaking the bank! then there's a company called Premier Software and their OCR program is $250. but I hear many have trouble with it.
