Ok, I don't remember doing such a comparason but I was curious about it.
Thanks for getting back to me about this, just as long as I know my pk is alright, that's way cool.

Hello Mary Ellen

On the BrailleNote PK, we have to take the battery reading from the current cell voltage which is less accurate, since there is no gauge. When you put
a card in the PK, the voltage will drop as there is an extra load on the
battery.

An advantage of the battery gauge is that a more accurate reading of the
battery's status can be obtained. However, the gauge does sometimes require
calibrating. I think you made this exact comparison a couple of days ago.

Subject: [Braillenote] An observation about the PK:

Have any of you pk users observed that when you have a microdrive in the
flash card slot and pres o chord and p you get a different reading than if
you take that microdrive out and press the same key combination?
I had my microdrive in and pressed the o chord and p and got a reading of
37% and when I removed that card the same press of keystrokes showed that
the power had increased to 43%.
What gives? I never had that in the big bn. For all its idiocyncracies,
you
certainly got a better idea of how much power you were consuming with the
bigger unit.
Is this anomoly a bug in the pk or what gives?
