Hi Don,

Thanks. Unfortunately, my display was repaired in March, the 4 panels had
to be replaced. Now this. It's interesting that this problem didn't occur
until after the transplant took place. Was it coincidence or did something
happen during the transplant? In any case, the unit will ship on Monday and
I'll await its return.
Best Regards,

Les

Hi Les,

Actually, the automatic mode option has been around for a very long time.
You just don't see it unless you access the options menu from within an open
document. You can also use the hot key of previous next to toggle through
the display modes.

It sounds like you're getting the dot problem often enough that they will be
able to duplicate this when they see your unit.

That's the one real problem with all the moving parts in a braille display.

Hi Don,

Thanks, and again, thanks for all of your suggestions. I appreciate the
clarification on the display modes, at least I didn't do anything to lose
that option! Hopefully, the unit will be repaired quickly and the problem
will be isolated and resolved. I worry that with intermittent issues like
this, it may not be replicated right away, but I have to believe it will be
found, and quite honestly, I'd be surprised if I'm the only one who has
experienced this.
Best Regards,

Hi Les,

The automatic mode shows up when you have a document open. If you go to the
main menu with nothing open and bring up the options, braille display, you
won't see it.

REally sorry to hear about your display problems, but you are probably right
and it has to go back.

Hope you at least get to try out your new gps receiver.

Don
