Hi Pam, by default, recordings are stored on the Flash Disk, in the My memos folders. However, you can record onto any device connected to your BrailleNote mPower. So if you have a 1 gig SD card for example, you could record straight onto that. The length of time you can record depends on three factors, the amount of free disk space on the drive you're recording onto, the bit depth, and the sampling rate you set. A CD quality recording at 44 kHz 16 bit will take five megabytes a minute. But you could go right down to 11 kHz 8 bit and record for a very long time, although the quality will be considerably inferior. Hope this helps. Can you record something directly to a flash drive, or are you limited to the space available on the flash disk. I'm thinking that assuming all of your flash disk is abailable which it rarely would be, a person could record for around a half hour on that. I plan to take it to my son's piano concerts and such. If a program was an hour for example, would I need to record for maybe a half hour and save the file, move it to a flash drive and start recording again? Or could I record for the entire hour directly to my one-gig flash drive? Thanks.
