Hi Rhonda
I've tried it with documents I created and also an imported text file I
translated into a braille file. What would the ascii translation
settings have to do with a braille file? Isn't that just for when you
import something like a plain text file?
If I take a text file and don't convert it into braille, then the
paragraph reading commands function as I would expect them to. I guess
what I'm saying is that with a braille file, the paragraph definition in
terms of cursor movement seems to want two returns to signal a new
paragraph. can I make that be one instead?
I did experiment with some of the translation for text to braille
options but never did create the desired outcome. Smile.

Are these documents you created? You can, from the Main Menu, press F,
and T for file translation. Go into the Ascii, and change some of
those settings. I don't know if this is what you mean for sure.

Subject: [Braillenote] reading modes with mPower
I have a question about reading modes using the voice. In a braille
file, using space with dots 3-2 or 5-6 to move to the next paragraph
results in going to the next place in the file where there are two
paragraph symbols. In my mind, a paragraph is one enter or return,
not
two. Is there a way to make this cursor movement command use one
return
or paragraph symbol to denote a paragraph instead of two? I can move
by
paragraph properly when using the thumb keys, but not with the voice.
Just wondering if I've inadvertently changed something.
Jean
