Hi Ann, I think I'm having trouble being clear because I have spent so
many hours trying everything I can think of, and I guess you probably know
how we can make things harder than they really should be when we go around
in circles with them. I read all the writing in the manual on the Braille
note about active sync, Bookshare, my e-books, coactivity, email, my
downloads, and who knows what else ... I can't think of it all off the top
of my head. I went on to the bookshare web site, read their info and looked
at all the books and categories they offer, and I managed to get signed up
with them. After all that, I tried to get my Braillenote to work with my
computer. Somewhere in all the directions, it was mentioned that it is
better to use the serial port rather than the USB port, so I tried to
download some books using the serial port. I thought I was doing okay until
I got to the very end. All of a sudden the Braille display on the
Braillenote cleared, and I couldn't figure out what to do next. I was
getting an indication that there was a place I was supposed to click on
"yes", a window, but I couldn't find the window. I got my landlord, Tim, to
look at this because he is a computer expert and has gotten me out of a lot
of jams, and he couldn't find the "yes" window either. He even unloaded and
reloaded everything to see if we could clear the problem that way, but
nothing worked.

Today I called someone who uses Bookshare all the time, and she was the one
who was doing this using email. Whatever she does works for her, but if the
rest of you do this another way, that's fine with me. I just want to make
this work one way or the other.

Okay, now can you figure out anything from what I just wrote or is it still
clear as mud?

Thanks

Linda
