Hi Matthew, yes visually, BrailleNote mPower looks different, and tactually, I think the product is more pleasant, it's smoother. But the actual key configuration is what existing BrailleNote customers are used to.
Yes, all new BrailleNote mPowers will have the newer Braille cells from KGS, however, if you have one of the older BrailleNotes that don't have these cells, we can still transplant your Braille display into a BrailleNote mPower. The transplant option will be available to all BrailleNote users. However if your software isn't current, IE at KeySoft 6.11, keep in mind that software updates are cumulative so it will cost a little more to get to KeySoft 6.2. Hope this helps. And boy! I can't tell ya how good it feels to finally be able to talk to you guys about this product. It, uh, rocks. Will the new MPower have the newer braille cells which were released earlier this year? I bring this up because I'm sure some of us had a situation where an agency bought us a Braille Note but didn't purchase any upgrades at all. My unit was bought in 2002 and hasn't been upgraded at all. Would the transplant option only work if you have an existing upgrade agreement, and so you'd have everything new except for the new braille cells? Do I have all of this right? Thanks a lot.
