Terri; I take my addapter with me where ever I go. If you tutch the end of the adapter that goes in the BN, while it is in the wall, isn't that the same as coming in contact with a live current. If not, what makes it a live current when it is plugged in to the machine? My example of the lamp uses a direct chord. When you unplug the lamp, you loose the power, just like that! It is either live or dead. What makes the adapter any different? One good thing about a serge protector is that you can turn off the power with the flip of a switch and still leave the plug in. It also helps those with reaching and muscular problems to get to a power sorce easier. Terry Powers

I have always been able to unplug the BN adapter cord without unplugging from the wall socket. In fact, I leave the adapter in the socket as much as possible. Terri, Amateur Radio call sign KF6CA.
