Line of sight is usually defined as to the horizon. Having said that you
are correct we are talking about radio transmitions and any radio
transmition can be blocked intercepted and tampered with if you have
the skills or in this case if the solar flair activity were strong
enough. It wasn't that many years ago where a whole power grid was taken
down and communications from satellites is often interrupted.

Having said that these cases don't happen all that often but they do
happen.

Bruce,

I'm curious about what you mean by "line of sight", when having to do
with wireless networks. All the WiFi networks I have seen act more like
radio transmissions, in other words, the signal can pass through walls
and other solid barriers. For instance, I can stand in front of my
house and connect to my wireless network.

Thanks,

Sarah

As wireless networks are generally what is known as Line Of Sight
connections, Solar Activity should have no bearing upon their
operations.
