Well, you certainly have a point, but let me give my side of it.
First, I didn't choose the PK for other reasons, so a small unit for GPS
is still apealing. For my lifestyle, I don't invision taking the BN
mPower with me outside much. So, size of the Trekker PDA is important.
Last I checked, the Sendero GPS Canadian maps didn't include points of
interest. A company rep, I forget who or where from, said they were
working on that. Based on that, I figure that the Sendero Group GPS
focuses largely on American maps.
I listened to Mike May's car demo and it drove me crazy. Too much
information. Smile.
GPS with the BrailleNote has never been demonstrated or promoted
anywhere near me. It's all been Trekker. Now, is that because Sendero
Group has poor Canadian maps, or focuses strictly on the American
market? I don't know. In fact, our local agency for the blind, CNIB
doesn't even promote the BN much. They try to steer people to the
PacMate.
If I skip Maestro, which I agree is kind of a joke right now, the basic
Trekker is a lot cheaper than the Sendero Group GPS. At least I've seen
Trekker and know the maps work, etc. for my area. I can't say the same
for Sendero. It's all about marketing and company presence. For the few
extra hundred bucks, if I did get Trekker, I may as well put Maestro on
it for the bit of functionality it would give me as a pocket device.
Now, if you have some constructive or enlightening input, I'd be glad to
hear it. But not all market development is given the same priority, and
Canadian maps seem to have been an afterthought by Sendero.
For me, they would be two devices with two very different purposes.

tooth stuff worked out with that. Since these are both Humanware
products,
can someone tell me if they can be cinked together for file transfers,
etc.?
