Like others on this list, I'm not a big fan of the eloquence
synthesizer. I think that many of us have heard both the keynote
synthesizer and eloquence and find that the keynote is far
better. Of course, I also realize that the preference of
synthesizers is an individual issue. I think that if Humanware did
offer more choices of synthesizers that it should be an option that
people should have to pay for so that if it did prove to be a
resource drainer that people should have that option. If I had my
choice, I would like to see development resources concentrated on
getting more bang for the buck when it comes to braille display
costs. My feeling is that these units are note takers and not
laptops. Why not introduce a laptop with a braille
display? Actually one could buy a laptop and then buy a braille
display. What ever Humanware does, they aren't going to satisfy
everyone no matter what course of action they take. With respect to
an earlier post, I've received great customer service most of the
time. There was only one time when I was forced to rattle a few
cages. The issue that I had was resolved when I received a call from
new Zealand on a Sunday. I would like to give the individual name
credit, his name escapes me. I should remember the name because he
posts messages to the list all of the time.

Hi Tom,
Considering that there is a version of Eloquence that runs under Windows CE,
and, in fact, the PM uses this, I would think what you ask for is
technically possible, but considering that Keynote is good speech, there
would have to be a compelling case made for Humanware to modify Keysoft to
drive Eloquence, other than just the fact that some folks prefer it.

Hey, if Eloquence can be put into a Nokia cell phone, why not the Braille
Note?

Hi,
Maybe now since we have the m-power machines. Maybe it would be possible
to add the multilingual eloquence as an option for speech software on
the braillenote that could run with KeySoft?
