>From my experience, sd cards don't draw as much power as compact flash cards. Other than the fact that SD cards are smaller, I don't know why they don't seem to draw as much power. Of course, you can have other types of devices in the compact flash slot such as a wireless card. SD slots seem to only be used for storage to my knowledge.
