Mine stutters too but when the speech locks up I just let it sit for about
10 seconds and it settles down.
I haven't gotten to the downloading of this fix because I had to meet with
the board of the homeowners associationtoday to discuss some water damage we
had over the holidays when a sooer backed up.
But, tomorrow is another day.

Hi Richard, Les and list:
Firstly, I would still upgrade to build 26 if you do plan on upgrading to
KeySoft 7 and want to take advantage of the fix immediately.
The fix is certainly implemented in KeySoft 7 and will not be the cause of
any delay as this was done during our beta testing cycle.
This is the only speech issue that has been fixed in this build of KeySoft
and the release build of KeySoft 7. However, we are aware of other speech
loss issues and these are being investigated. However, these are less
regular in happening but nevertheless, no less critical in nature, though
there are no PK VoiceNotes so it is still possible to save your data
before
resetting, an annoyance agreed.
Any further fixes will certainly be announced on the email lists.

Dean Jackson

Hi Dean,
Any chance the similar loss of speech on the PK will be resolved in
Keysoft
7?
It may not be as frequent as with the mPowers, but it is rather
annoying to have to re-set to get speech back at most inconvenient times.

Recently, there was some discussion on the BrailleNote discussion email
list concerning regular speech loss while working on the BrailleNote
mPower and how disconcerting this is for VoiceNote users. We have taken
this, along with other feedback recently received, very seriously, hence
making this KeySoft patch available today. KeySoft 6.2 build 26, is the
same as the previous build, the difference being a modification in the
audio driver, preventing the regular speech loss previously mentioned.
Please note that an SD card of 512 MB or less in total capacity is
required to run the upgrade. Full instructions, along with the

Please do not hesitate to direct any queries to me regarding this
announcement. Any problems encountered during the software upgrade
process, should be raised with your nearest Humanware office.
