I love my MPower dispite the few things that haven't worked out for me,
like bluetooth connection to activesync. That isn't the MPowers problem,
though, it's Microsoft's doing. It may still have some issues, but there
are fewer issues than the classics had. I don't spend money easily, so I
didn't get the upgrade to the new board that was offered between versions 4
and 5, but when I found out about the MPower I really really wanted it. I
haven't had mine long, but I have no regrets. I really value the increased
connectivity options, such as USB ports and being able to browse a network.
Most of all I appreciate the increase in onboard storage capacity and the
very fast response. I like to read large books, and it was annoying to
spend so much time opening them. I also use my Braille Note as a Bible and
that usually means looking up scriptures one after another. That meant
switching files and doing searches all the time, which was not efficient
with my old braille note. I haven't yet stopped appreciating the increased
speed every single time I open a file. <grin>
If you use Internet on your braille note I'd say the MPower is a must have.
Although I didn't own a braille note with a browser before now I did use
one at times, and found it too frustrating. The MPower changes that.

Hi,
I have a quick question for those of you that have upgraded from the
Classic to the MPower.
Do you wish that you would have stuck with the Classic? I am reading
about so many issues. If I could afford it, I was really thinking about
buying myself an MPower one day, but listening to all of those issues,
really makes me think.
Just asking,
Janel

Richard: sounds like your machine is riddled with bugs, as I'm having
none
of the issues with my mPower BT. I find I shall have to do a manual
recalibration (I've only had the thing a couple of months) and that
concerns
me, though. The gauge claims to be accurate but it went critical and
died
on nine percent the other day, so go figure.
Anyhow, I'd be persistent about getting your machine looked at. Those
sound
like unusual issues to me.
good luck.

Hi: 1. So glad Jim is pleased with his battery. I can't depend on my at
all.
And when it dies in the middle of a critical meeting, how can I help
being
imbarassed? And HumanWare won't give me any assistance. Purchased lastt
July, but may be sentt back shortly.
2. When I try to erase a folder I get the message "network request not
supported." I don't use the network at all. I am not connected to a
modem.
etc. etc. Still, I can't delete the unwanted folder.
3. Tried spell checking a long file. It would allow me to change the
world,
but when instructed to change or ignore, refused to carry out the
command.Does seem to work with a very short file.
4. Conclusion: I am not interested in listening to the radio or playing
games. I am interested in having a dependable note taker for serious
writing
and professional note keeping. Thus far, my new MPower BT does
miserably
in
this important. So keep your radio and games, and give me a serious
notetaker that can get the real work done.
