Hi, R. Hutcheson here: I'm still awaiting some action on this matter. Note
the following: 1. The error message always!! reads plus or mminus %2. 2. But
doan space plus o, space plus I, C, nominal charge is a crazy reading. My
classic BN reads 29 thousand etc. when fully charged. The mPower has never
read over 17 hundred and something -- and that is some time lower no matter
I have let the charger in. We have a serious problem here, but HumanWare
gives us no info, except: we are thinking so please wait for more news. My
machine is two months old. I have caalled HumanWare at least two times. Sent
my Battery Log in three times. But still nothing. Not wanting to affect
sales, Jonathan and Dean are seemingly acting a little to casually about all
this.

Hello!
The battery calibration isn't such a big deal really in the M-power. If
one takes the battery to zero percent, one simply leaves it plugged in
till the unit reaches a hundred percent. Should I check my BN after two
hours and it is shoing 80 to 90 percent or slightly better than that
charged, I unplug the AC adapter and immediately plug it back in again and
let it go for another two or more hours. I have left my unit charging for
almost eight hours but this is very rare indeed. They say the unit is
charging as well as calibrating the battery gage. I'm noticing that my
unit says gage is accurate plus or minus two percent. Since I have been
using my BN on a regular basis and there isn't a day that goes by when the
BN isn't being used for something, I'm finding that I can check what
percentage is left while running the media player or about to work on some
other project. I usually plug in my unit around ten percent. Sometimes
it is less than that maybe 8 percent. I'm finding I reach a hundred
percent charge in two hours on a regular basis. Getting that new dorment
battery working may be the problem at first but when habits of use are
established, the battery will work and charge properly. I have always
maintained that the battery will remain calibrated as long as your BN is
being used on a regular basis! I say use the heck out of your BN and you
should be fine when it comes to use and calibration of the battery in your
unit. I feel one rarely needs to use that I'm talking till my battery
goes flat feature.
As for Email, it is truly fast in the M-power! I have downloaded 300 or
more messages in three minutes or less. There are times when the Email
process might be aborted so it is good to monitor what's going on when
downloading Email. This doesn't take long at all! You really shouldn't
need to worry about downloading Email or calibrating the battery if
everything is operating properly!

Hi all;
If calibration is really necessary for whatever reason, why not set up
something that actually measures the battery all the time and
automatically calibrates itself?
Why go through this "talking until my battery goes flat" jazz which,
besides driving you nuts, could be more time spent reading or whatever?
I also would like to see the bns have a way that you could, for example,
get your email while doing something else, like working on a document or
reading a book.
Whether you work or not, it's a waste of time to sit around waiting while
your notetaker, which you may be depending on at school or on a job is
collecting email and you can't do anything else except, with the mPower,
run the media player.
I know that usually we don't discuss other products on this list, but I
had a Pacmate that I used for a training class to see which device I liked
better, and you could do other things while it was downloading your email.
I like the bn much better, but wish it would have this capability.
