of course, it may just have to be sent back in. Oh and by the way, I'm still
looking for someone to take that alva display off my hands. I'd like $1500
for it but am willing to negotiate the price. [EMAIL PROTECTED] or
610-894-5655.
I hope the voicenote does not have to be sent back in for repairs.

Okay Josh! That's fine, was simply double checking everything. If I think
of anything more to check, I'll pass it on.

The serial number says that it is 16535 and mine says, that is the
braillenote's is 13266, the voicenote's is 16535. the voicenote is the
one
with the problems, not the braillenote. and I was told earlier that I can
use my upgrade card to re-install her keysoft 6.11.

Josh,
What is the serial number saying on her unit? Press the information
command which starts out by giving the copyright information. Space
till
you hear serial number. Is that reading correctly or is it trying to
give
your serial number from your BN or is the serial number garbled in some
way? I was under the impression that the VN had a separate software
upgrade from the VN. She needs to have the separate upgrade with the
key
with her serial number. Using your upgrade might be the problem. I'm
certain someone else could give you better information than this.

I installed the upgrade using my own upgrade card. It seemed to work.
But
I'm still getting the same beep when going from internet to main menu.

keySoft
This is Joseph. To reinstall keySoft 6.11 (this
applies to users with KeySoft 6.1 or who have had
trouble with 6.11 and want to start from schratch)
Warning: The BN must be plug-in into the AC power at
all times.
1. Go to www.braillenote.com, click on BrailleNote
downloads, and look for the link that says, "KeySoft
6.11 for KeySoft 6.1 users." Click on the link. Be
sure to read details provided by Dean Jackson.
2. Download the zip file.
3. Unzip the file, and copy the resulting file to a
CompactFlash card.
4. Plug in the AC adapter to the BN.
5. Insert the CF card containing the file ks611b26.bin
into the CF slot on the back.
6. On the BN, go to Main Menu. Hold down dots 4-5 (jk
on the QT) and press the Reset button. The BrailleNote
will beep, indicating that the installation has
started. On the braille display, you'll see something
like, "preparing... 1." Don't do anything on the
BrailleNote.
7. It'll take approximately 30 minutes to install
KeySoft. After the process is complete, BrailleNote
will restart with the message, "KeySoft CE version
6.11. Build: 26." After few seconds you'll be in the
Main Menu. For more information about upgrading to
KeySoft 6.x, see the Upgrade Instructions document on
the HumwnWare's web site. It can be found at
www.pulsedata.com/6_1. Be sure to look for the link
that says upgrade instructions.
I hope this information may help you. Thanks.
