James. I am not Jonathan, but I wanted to jump in here. I don't want you to get paranoid about the battery in the MPower and whether you should purchase one for yourself or your partner. Of course you should and as soon as possible. The MPower just drains a bit faster than the bn classic does. Even the bn classic loses five percent or so of its power per day due to the clock, etc. The MPower loses more, in my case, up to ten percent per day. Not really a problem. I just charge it every five to seven days instead of eight or nine days. You are really going to be quite thrilled with this unit even to the point of using it instead of your computer when you can't be near your computer.
So, go for it<grin>.

Hi Jonathon,

I'm not trying to be rude or in polite etc, but what will happen to thos of
us who are considering buying M power (like myself and my partner), if the
problem persists? I assume we will have to send our units away to the UK
offices, but is there any possibility of being issued with replacement
models if this is the case?

Onece again not trying to be rude just wondering

All the Best and keep up to good work

James

Hi Paul, the behaviour you are reporting is definitely not typical, but it
is happening for a few of our customers. We're spending a great deal of
time doing analysis to find out why some units are experiencing this, and
we will get this resolved. We have our theories as to what is happening,
but it's not really helpful for me to post what would only be educated
speculation at this time. Typically, you can turn off the mPower and the
battery is likely to stay at about the same percentage level overnight. The
issues with the level indicator are also being investigated. Plenty of
resource is being allocated to this investigation, and I've no doubt we'll
get to the bottom of it. To those mPower early adopters who are
experiencing some issues, our apologies and we appreciate your patience.
Most of you will already have had private email from us as we collect as
much data as we can. For a brand new piece of hardware, things are going
really well overall, and we will iron out this wrinkle that is present on
some units.

Thanks,

Jonathan Mosen

Once mine got to nine percent, it stayed there for 24 hours. I was able to
read probably eight more chapters of my book and in the end, I used the mp3

player to get it to go dead. With the MPower, once it gets to nine percent,

it never goes lower; so you really have no idea how much of a charge you
have left until you get the battery critical message. It took me quite a
while to get the battery critical message.
