Hi, Matthew. I don't think a new board will help. I will be interested to see what you find out. The mPower drains a battery faster than does the classic bn. Don't know why. I would be interested in hearing from other MPower users to see if they find the same results. When I last saw my MPower at 12 midnight, last night, I was at 48 percent. Now, at four PM on Saturday, I am at 41 percent and all I have done is to switch it on twice and transfer something to the flash with active sync. I think these MPowers, or at least mine, lose eight to ten percent per day even if you don't use them. The repair guy at humanware said I didn't need a battery, so he didn't replace mine. He cycled the battery 30 times and that was that as far as I can tell. So, from yesterday morning at 11 am until 4 pm today, I have dropped from 58 to 41 percent. I did use the MPower yesterday to do a restore and to delete some folders and files.
Any of you other MPower users, how do you find the battery drain situation?

Well I am more intrested in how the batterty will act with the new board when I get it back. I will let every one know how it goes when I get the unit back.

Hi, Matthew. I just got mine back today; so we will see how it goes. I do think the MPower drains faster than does the classic bn. When I got mine this morning, I was at 58 percent. I did a restore and deleted a few files. I connected active sync to make sure it worked again as I had to reinstall windows and now, I am at 53 percent.

Hi Paul. It is to know that I am not the only one with this problem. I just thought I should speakup since this thread has been going on for some time.

I was told it was the software that caused the battery problem. I don't see how that could be unless the early units went out with a lower build number. Mine should be back tomorrow, so we'll see.
I would have thought it would have been a board issue as well.

Well I just though I should put my two sence in. I had to send my unit in now three times before they figured out that it was the mother boarsd. So It is on its way back to california as I respond. I ha the same problem with my battery and so when I get it back It is going to have the new motherboard if I remember. I just hope it aklkl goes well over there.

Jean. You really should get at least ten before you get a battery low message. If your unit is dying at 27 percent, something is wrong. Of course, you could try calibrating the battery to see if this fixes the problem, but you shouldn't have to calibrate a new battery. They are supposed to be calibrated before they leave the factory. I'd be talking to humanware on this one. Twenty-seven percent doesn't seem right. After writing this, however, I also need to say one more thing. If you are using anything like a wireless card, the internal modem, bluetooth or the USB ports, it won't be that odd to have the unit go flat at 27 percent. What you want to do is to charge the unit all the way up to 100 percent. Then just read, or type, or edit. Whatever. Just don't use any devices that draw power. See if you then get to ten percent before you get the battery low message. If you do, everything is fine. Using wireless does drain the unit pretty quickly and you might get the warning at 27 percent or even higher, depending on how much you used your wireless card and for how long.
But if you are playing with wireless, etc, 27 percent sounds reasonable.
