You are in for a treat if you ask me. The Braille Note Mpower is really
awesome. I am enjoying all of its new features everyday from the sterio
sound while playing my music files to being able to connect to bluetooth
devices such as my cell phone to have internet connectivity even when I am
away from my home and office wireless network. The speed increase and
additional storage is incredible. I could have never imagined I'd have a
note taking device and an entertainment center all in one back in my Braille
N Speak and Braille Lite 2000 days. Thank you Humanware for keeping up
witht the times and providing us with a wonderful product in the Braille
Note Mpower. Now I'm off to install the GPS software for my Mpower.

Thanks for your incurraging message. I needed that. I am waiting until
roger Bem writes me about sending my BT in for transplant and I have heard
about a lot problems with the m-power. I try to think positive, as if my
cup is half full, because I am looking forward to the recording feature, not
for music, but a way to take quick notes and not have to strain my weakening
eyes. I can then play it back and braille it when I get home or to work. I
am fearful my sight is going to totally leave me some day, so I might as
well live with it and solve it now.
I have an adopted sister who lost one eye through glacolma and a detatched
retna, but refuses to learn braille. with her one eye, she can still drive,
but you never know what can happen. We have tried to get her to learn,
before it is to late. I was lucky, after a year of large print, they
changed me over to braille.
M-power, you are going to work for all of us!

Hello all,

The problem that you experience sometimes is the list itself. You are bound
to hear more of the problems that a product might have than you will hear
how well things are working with that product. One really must keep a good
perspective and understand with the ever changing software, it is sometimes
hard to keep up with changes. Remember, a 7.0 upgrade has been promised for
all units which may solve a number of issues. Keep in mine that one's cup
is either half full or half empty! It really depends on one's own personal
outlook on the situation.

It is true my M-power has a minor problem with the record feature but I
don't use that much and it does work! The audio streaming is superb and
more MP3 files as well as the .wav files now can be played. The older
units can't play .wav files nor do they have a record feature. . All
flash cards I had, my 1 gig thumb drive and my new SanDisk network card plus
flash card work wonderfully in my M-power. That Wi Fi card won't work in my
older unit though! Yes, I still need to find a way to get my M-power
working with my braille embosser but that will happen! The Microsoft Word
Problem was an issue with the older classic units and still may be an issue
today. If one has a PC, they can convert those Microsoft Word Files to an
older version of MSW, or they can convert those files to .rtf and read with
the BN or M-power. One may be up a creek if one doesn't have a PC. I for
one have encountered very few Microsoft Word Files I couldn't read.

You can cry in your beer and be left out if you like and that is truly your
choice! Not everyone is experiencing every problem you read about on this
list. We might be having one or two of these problems but not every one of
them that you see memtioned on this list. I can't sing the praises of my BN
long enough or loud enough! I marvel at how short a time it took to
transfer the Bible from one conpact flash card to another! It was ten or
fifteen seconds if that! I have an older BN and I can run it beside the
M-power and there is no comparison! The people at Humanware are listening!
They can't always talk about what is in the wings due to listening
compeditors etc. I've had a BN for four years now and have seen many
improvements in this product from when I first bought one! I would say
there are problems with any notetaker out there on the market if that is
what you are looking for! Just remember! You are the one that is missing
out on a truly wonderful product! Go ahead and miss out if you wish, but
I'm truly enjoying mine!
