Well I was thinking about that and at 1:00 AM it came to me, if that
port was bad, then you might not be able to active sync or use your BN
as a synth. Unless your switching ports to do this. It has to be a PC
issue because your BN works on that other computer.

Yes, I was careful to reinstall all the synth and Braille drivers I
wanted Jaws to have, including the BN.  I, too, think my serial
portmight have died.  I bought a USB to serial converter from
www.pagecomputers.com and it should be here in a few days.  I'll let you
know if it solves things. Thanks yet again.
