I think it would be nice to be able to use the copy cut and paste commands in the file manager on a folder.

Hi Robert and KC,

There is an even faster way of copying a folder, and this enables one to copy a folder containing subfolders and files. GO to the utilities menu and choose backup. When asked which folder to back up, choose the folder you want to copy. Then, when asked where to back up the folder, navigate to the drive where you want it and press enter, choose the folder where you want your folder to be copied, and press enter again. This is only slightly faster than the tried and true wild card method, but it does involve fewer keystrokes. [smile]

I am convinced that this is why the folder manager doesn't currently have a "copy folder" option. I wish it did, in spite of the two above-mentioned methods, it would be easier to find. [smile]

HTH

Sarah

folders

Hello Kc,
At present, the easiest way of doing this is the following,
1. create the same folder on a different drive,
2. go to the file manager press enter on move files
3. select the folder, then it will say file to move,
4. press the wildcard function, which on the braille keyboard is
space with dots 35 and it will ask if you want to confirm the
files, I usually say no and within seconds, they will all be
done,
I have transfered 150 files with a wildcard and it was done in a
matter of a minute or so.
good luck.

Subject: [Braillenote] question for Dean re moving file folders

Hi Dean,
May I ask if it would be possible to program KS so entire folders
can be moved, insteadof having to move one file at a time?
For example, I want to move folders from E-Mail to a PC card.
The files are in folders I've created.
If this capability already exists, can you please tell me where
to find the instructions?
Many thanks.
KC
