Ok, gang, I've just done my upgrade to 7.0. Long and stupid story why it's taken so long, bottom line, I did it about an hour ago, and paid very close attention to whether or not any hearing would actually be required to do the install, and it most emphatically is not! Yes, you have to move your hands quickly, at least your left one, from the reset button to the display, but the display starts going through changes the instant the sounds start. The instructions need to be rewritten, to reflect the message on the Braille display when a new step is required, but this would only take two or three sentences. In other words, don't hire someone next time, you can do this!

There should be enough time to press the reset button with the left hand, hold the keys down with the right hand, and then quickly move the hands to the display. This seemed to be true in my case. But this could be because I'm a left-handed Braille reader, even though I'm right-handed. :)

I will also try to remember to pay attention to the display when I can finally install 7. :-) I suspect the biggest problem is having enough fingers and a way to get some of them to the display while holding down keys. I'll try to pay attention to using timing instead of sound and see if that seems like it would work. Don't expect too much from me, though. I don't want to disappoint.

Oh wow! thanks Sarah. For certain, I know a Bn user doesn't want to foul up his/her unit! One thing though: The person who talked about tones, seems to thing you need to hear them to start the downloading. Is that true? (I told her Richard Ring would have said something if it was a problem.)
